Taekwondo

Why study martial arts? Martial arts have both physical and mental benefits that many students carry with them through life. That is why we say that Taekwondo is a journey– a way of life not just being into fitness. The skills we teach transfer to the classroom, other sports, and personal achievements for a lifetime. The benefits of our program are not only physical changes, but changes in self-confidence, discipline, and greater respect.

Benefits of training Indianapolis ATA Black Belt Academy include:

  1. Self-confidence and awareness
  2. A belt system that encourages and shows progress and achievement
  3. Leadership skills
  4. Integrity, discipline, and respect
  5. Character development
  6. Physical Fitness

A huge aspect for getting kids involved early in martial is that it helps them learn to have a healthy lifestyle. Martial arts can help fight the childhood-obesity epidemic by encouraging kids to stay active and giving them confidence in themselves. It’s also great for bully prevention. Bullying is a major concern for parents with children in school. Martial arts will give their children the confidence, self-control, and physical skills to help keep bullies at bay.

We teach primarily Taekwondo at our martial arts academy. Taekwondo (also written as “tae kwon do”, “taekwon-do” or “t’aegwondo”) is a modern martial art from Korea that is characterised by its fast, high and spinning kicks.
